BIO..
Tyger is a Sydney-based saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist. Hailing from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, he began playing saxophone at age 8 under the mentorship of his father, prominent woodwind extraordinaire Ross Middleton, whilst studying piano with local legends such as Andrew Funnell, Roc Koren, and renowned pianist Dave MacRae.
Since relocating to Brisbane in 2021, Tyger quickly became an in-demand musician in the local music scene, having worked with many notable musicians/groups and venues. In early 2025, Tyger was selected as a tenor saxophonist in the Australian National Jazz Orchestra (ANJO) Youth Big Band - a prestigious ensemble bringing together a selection of Australia's brightest young jazz musicians aged 18–25, giving them the opportunity to meet and perform with internationally acclaimed musicians such as, Gordon Goodwin, Wayne Bergeron and James Morrison.
Tyger's musical style blends modern and traditional influences, drawing inspiration from saxophonists such as Chris Potter, Kenny Garrett, Joe Henderson, Michael Brecker, George Garzone, Troy Roberts, Dayna Stephens and Tivon Pennicott
