The AMPT Up Amplified Amputee
AMPT Australia is the DJ identity of Roger, a Wollongong-based professional DJ whose passion for music, people and hospitality is at the heart of everything he does.
A qualified chef with 15 years of professional experience, Roger has worked in major hotels and designed, established and operated his own hospitality businesses. He brings that experience to every performance, understanding that a great event is about much more than just the music.
After becoming an amputee, Roger began looking at life differently. Music helped him through some of his darkest times and inspired him to follow his passion for DJing full-time. The name AMPT Australia reflects that journey, combining amped up, amplified and amputee.
As an open-format DJ, Roger believes in one simple philosophy: good music, at the right time, for the right people. His musical versatility spans generations, from Rock ’n’ Roll, Motown, Old School R&B and Reggae through to Classic House, Nu-Disco, Disco Reworks, Funky, Jackin’ and Groovy House, and much more. Whatever the occasion, his focus is always on reading the room, connecting with the audience and creating the right atmosphere.
Whether performing at weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, festivals or venues, Roger combines professional preparation with a genuine love of bringing people together.
Based in Wollongong but available for bookings across Australia, Roger is pursuing a personal ambition to DJ his way around the country, discovering new places, meeting people and sharing his love of music along the way.
For Roger, being a DJ isn't simply about playing tracks. It's about making people feel welcome, breaking down barriers and creating moments they'll remember.
Rober plays across many styles and genres including classics, remixes and reworks, tailoring the music to the people and the occasion.
